Lunch in Porres
Lunch in Porres.
It was 21 degrees as we set off in the van for Ruberts. We have used a parking spot by the mountain bike track in previous years but this time for it was obstructed so we had to divert to Sencelles about 4km away. We parked the van and cycled back to Ruberts. We then went down the mountain bike track and followed the minor roads to Porres via Monturi where we arrived just before 2:00pm. Bar Sa Plaga has provided an excellent lunch on previous trips and this year was no exception. We shared a 3 course lunch and had an additional main course between us. The bill was 21.50 euros including 2 beers and 2 coffees. After a slow lunch we retraced the route towards Monturi but instead of turning towards the town continued on the minor roads to the MA 15. We cycled on the service road alongside the main road and turned off a mile past Algaida towards Santa Eugenia. We skirted the village and continued to the water road. It was then the long way back to Sencelles. A round trip of 37 miles. The sun shone all day and the temperature was above 20 degrees

A gentle start.
After a good night sleep we awake to sunshine and a forecast of sun all day and temperatures of around 20 degrees. Lyn was not sure how she would be so did not want a strenuous ride. The point will have to wait until later in the holiday. After some final adjustments to the bikes we cycled into the centre. We were surprised to find that they are in the process if making the sea front one way. We followed the front for a short way and the diverting to the bypass and then turning off it at Llenaire to follow the back roads to the Parc Natural de S'Albufereta about 12 miles away. Some of the best rides are not planned and after a stop by the parcs information centre Lyn felt strong enough to continue onto Muro , an 6 miles away from Port de Pollenca. Perhaps a coffee at one of favourite spots was a good incentive. After coffee and a pasty we followed the back roads to Sa Pobla and then returned to Port De Pollenca via the Coves de Campanet. Around trip of 43 miles. The sun shone all day and one illuminated sign showed 23 degress c. First ride of the year without the need of leg warmers.
